Affixing advertising material to floodlight pillars in the AWD Arena

The request of the main sponsor of league leader Hannover 96 involved attaching Aludibond boards to the football stadium's four floodlight pillars.

All 4 sides of the pillars each had to be adorned with 1.50 m x 6.20 m large boards with the highly visible AWD lettering.

To do this, 72 boreholes had to be made, according to the construction authority's regulations, and this could be done from the accessible inner side of the steel pillars to then affix the boards from the outside with weather-resistant screws.

At the "summit" of the floodlight pillars was an exit located 58 metres up, and the boards were to be put up at approx. 40 metres.
After the boreholes had been made, the boards were individually pulled up and screwed in.
Affixing each of the last boards to the "overhanging side" of the floodlight pillars was particularly difficult.
Affixing each of the last boards to the "overhanging side" of the floodlight pillars was particularly difficult: Not only over-head, but also the sloping position - seen from the tower - made additional anchorage points essential for an effective power transmission.

Over 7 working days, effective advertising was created with an average of 4 height workers a day, 2 metal works who made the 1152 boreholes and 3 assistants from the advertising manufacturer, who had to lift the 32 half-boards up despite occasional bad weather conditions during the autumn storm season.
