Protective nets
Like all work material (e.g. PPE, ladders and steps), all work equipment to protect against falls is also governed by particular regulations according to German law.
Protective nets or nets for catching people are no exception to this.
Protective nets are especially put up if it is not possible to use PPE because of on-site conditions, or it seems uneconomical/is impossible to set up permanent equipment. It is precisely for this reason that the nets are often set up on hard-to-access areas to achieve optimum protection.
Rope access technology has quick and simple solutions to set up the nets, and these solutions can be used specifically with machines or conveyors in production plants etc.
The nets are selected according to your function:
- System S (protective net with edge rope) is predominantly used when building halls.
- System T (net in a bracket) is frequently used in structural engineering as an alternative to expensive safety scaffolding.
For longer usage - as part of reconstruction measures - the nets' function must be guaranteed through annual tests conducted by an expert assessor.
